Lenten Food for Families collection

The Knights of Columbus is committed to ending hunger in local communities by asking local councils to participate in the orderwide Food for Families Program – more information available here – commendable program, used widely across the order.

In the British Columbia jurisdiction, the State Council suggests that in an effort to increase awareness and support of local food banks, members consider donating one can of food per day during this Lenten season. Take all donations to your local council, or parish where they will be accumulated and than delivered to your local food bank.

Councils – remember the Supreme Council’s incentives for the Food for Families program, and the contribution this could make to winning a Star Council Award!

Grand Knights – after your council has completed it’s Food Drive activity, send to the State Community Director

  • the number of cans collected,
  • and the total weight,
  • and the number of man hours committed to this program.
